INTRO TO DANCE
Fall 2009-Spring 2010 Enrollment 

Intro To Dance is a Friendly, Coed, and Noncompetitive privatestudio, with classes that focus on individual attention. My specialty is working with young children (ages 1-10) to acquire the foundation of movements. I also offer Adult, and Private classes upon request. Located in Centereach, off of Nicolls Road.   

Fall Registration is August 17-23.No Registration Fee. 

Classes will begin week of September 14th and run for 32 weeks. 

There will be 4 Sessions with Tuition Payments, each consisting of 8 weeks.  

At Registration, a Non-refundable 50% Deposit will be collected for each class signed up for. The balance will be due on or before the 1st day of class. A late fee of $10 will be applied to any balance not paid in full. Cash or check payment only. Checks made payable to Deana Alejandro.   

PRICING 

  • 45 minute- Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Combo 3-4, and Adult Classes - $80 per session 
  • 1 Hour- Mommy & Me Classes - $100 per session 
  • 1 1/2 Hour Saturday- Preteen Combo-or-Combo Ages 3-7- $178 per session. 
  • Free Trial Classes offered, 1 per student per year.

DISCOUNTS:Multiple class registration- 2nd Class-10%, 3rd Class-15%. 

                         Pay In Full for all 4 Sessions- 10%

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS  

Combo 3 & 4 is an introduction to dance class for ages 3 and 4. They will learn the basics of each style of dance including: ballet, jazz, and tap. All students are expected to be fully potty trained. 45 Minutes   

Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles. In this class your child will learn how to find their center, balance, and extension, which are required for all types of dance. Both classical and lyrical styles of ballet will be used. 45 Minutes    

Jazz class works on different movements and lines that are more rigid than ballet. The music has a wide range of style such as current popular songs- show tunes, and everything in between. 45 Minute   

Tap is a form of dance that uses sounds to express creative movement. This class will teach your child about rhythm and beats. 45 Minutes   

Preteen Combo class will be offered on Saturdays only. This class will consist of 3 half hour segments of dance; Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. It is ideal for Ages 8-Preteen, but some exceptions may apply. I will cover the same level of technique as in the 45 minute class held during the week. This class is ideal for the students who can not make class during the week, or for students who wish to experience all styles of dance. 1 1/2 Hours  

 

Mommy & Me will have separate classes for age 1-crawlers, and age 2-walkers. These classes offer a fun-filled hour of creativity through music and play. During Circle Time we will sing songs and use props to express your child?s personality and creativity. We also have Parachute Time, Mirror Time, Bubble Play, and Musical Parade. 1 Hour 

 

Adult Dance Craze Aerobics- is a fun energetic class that incorporates various styles including:a Jazz warm-up, Latin-Zumba Dance segment, and a Ballet-Pilates toning. For ages 18 and up. 45 Minutes


 BIO

 Deana Alejandro - Owner/Director, and Teacher 

I have been dancing for over 30 years, the last 15 teaching: 2 years at June Claire and 13 at The Patti Schmidt Dance & Exercise Center; I have also trained at GYMBOREE during the summer of '08. My specialties include:Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, and Tiny Tots. In 1991, I was crowned Miss Petite New York. In 1992, I received my AAS degree from NCC in Fashion with a minor in Dance. In 1994, I received my Bachelor's in Fashion at LIM, and went on to receive another AAS in Interior Design at NCC. I am proud to open my very own studio (a dream of mine since I was a little girl) and pass on my knowledge and techniques to aspiring dancers.

Intro To Dance is a friendly, co-ed, and non-competitive private studio, with child-adult classes in ballet, tap, jazz, adult dance/exercise and Mommy and Me. Private classes are offered upon request.
