Tea and Dollhouse Parties at Whimsies Dollhouse Shop

Whimsies Dollhouse Shop, which offers custom dollhouses, now offers tea and dollhouse birthday parties in Greenwich.

Whimsies Dollhouse Shop is bringing back its children’s birthday parties, hosted in a fun, magical, dollhouse environment. After moving to a larger location 4 years ago, the shop took a break from the parties, but this fall it looks to offer the program again.

The playful parties can be customized depending on the age of the group. Birthday parties for younger children feature tactile playing, with activities such as iSpy games, in which children explore the miniature cabinets and caricatures that sprawl the store. Older parties involve more intricate crafting, where the birthday girl may choose her favorite fabric to upholster miniature furniture sets and build her own doll-sized Parsons chairs.

Birthday tea and dollhouse parties are fun for any child ages 2-13. The shop can accommodate the birthday girl and nine of her friends for her party. Parents bring the cupcakes or treats, and the shop will supply the pretty paper plates and napkins, as well as serve a tea party in whimsical teacup sets.

Part of the allure of dollhouses is that they are intergenerational, says Susie Vallon, owner of the dollhouse store. “They are unique objects which toddlers, pre-teens, sisters, mothers, and grandmothers can all participate in building family heirlooms together,” she says. The shop also offers summer and school vacation workshops, during which children build their own fully lit and furnished dollhouse from scratch. All dollhouses and accessories sold at Whimsies are handmade and artisan-quality, and make wonderful custom gifts.

Whimsies Dollhouse Shop is open Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm.
