Reading Campground is a special event held by PS 56 Lewis H Latimer open to the school and surrounding community to promote a love of books and reading. For the event the gym is transformed into a “campground” with tents and a “campfire.” Kids come to enjoy theater workshops, arts and crafts, comedy, music, storytimes, the pocket fairy, and more, all in celebration of reading!
Food including chili, smores and more will be on sale. Deeply discounted new books will be available for purchase. Enter the raffle for a chance to win amazing prizes. All sales and donations will go to the PS56 PTA.

WHAT: Join artist Sarah Cameron Sunde as she explores proposals towards a large-scale installation of all nine works in her series, 36.5 / A Durational Performance with the Sea.During her time at MITU580, Sarah will install various durational video artworks along with context videos, text, and ephemera, while experimenting with slow-looking.
The public is invited to participate in these experiments taking place between four tidal cycles in relation to the local tides in Gowanus Bay: high-tide on Thursday, March 30 through high-tide on Saturday, April 1.
This work encourages slow-looking and engaging the durational. The exhibit will have open gallery hours from 5pm to 9pm on March 30 and 31 and from 12pm to 6:30pm on April 1st.
On Saturday April 1st, there will be a durational viewing event for half a tidal cycle (6 hours, 23 min), which will end with an artist talk and a walk to the water.

The magic of balloons and joy of community come together this spring in an exciting new interactive installation, BALLOONTOPIA. Created by Brooklyn Bridge Parents and City Point, the ginormous balloon experience will fill 8,000+ square feet of BKLYN STUDIOS with over 1,000 balloons transformed into sculptures, games, and experiential moments to be enjoyed by all ages.
Interactive highlights of the magical adventure include Its Raining Balloons an immersive blue spread complete with an oversized balloon umbrella, Jumbo Balloon Fruits for tossing and posing, the Balloon Hedge Maze and a Multicolored Balloon Pool. Sports have never been so fun with the BALLOONTOPIA Basketball Hoop, Bowling Pins and Balloon Tennis. Larger than life caterpillars and Easter bunnies add an imaginative element to the experience celebrating spring. The exhibit also includes a display dedicated to the History of Balloons, with fun balloon facts, significant dates and stats.
