Tutors on Wheels Moves to Astoria and Adds Early Intervention Program

Tutors on Wheels, now located in Astoria and Midtown, recently started offering an Early Intervention Program.

Tutors on Wheels, a tutoring service with locations in Astoria and Midtown, moved to its Astoria location from Forest Hills in July. The business also launched an Early Intervention Program in July, which provides services such as speech-language therapy for eligible children ages 3 and younger with a developmental delay and/or disability.

According to relationship director, Binnie Kirk, Tutors on Wheels strives to "have a more comprehensive, holistic look at education—not just giving children what they're supposed to learn, but helping those who have special needs to learn in their own way...so classes are designed to be customized—and not only with the student in mind, but also what parents want."

Tutors on Wheels has 14 years of experience and provides private tutoring, supplemental education, and special education services for students in kindergarten to 12th grade in-home, schools, or at nearby locations. Students can come to the Astoria office for tutoring and use the location's conference rooms, but most of Tutors on Wheels' clients have tutors come to them.

"Most often for most students, home is the most comfortable place for them, but if there is any other reason we can provide it—schools, here, anywhere," Kirk says. "We bring tutoring and knowledge to students."

All Tutors on Wheels' teachers are carefully screened, have at least a bachelor’s degree (some from elite universities), and are experts in their fields. The business and its teachers strive to provide flexibility and convenience for the families they serve.

"We are very excited to be here, not only in our new location, but having our new services expanding and having more teachers so we can really cater to more people," Kirk says.

Tutors on Wheels is located at 35-37 36th St. in Astoria and 54 W. 40th St. in Midtown. For more information, visit tutorsonwheels.com.
