Sensory Bounce Therapy Now Offered at BounceU of Brooklyn

Sensory Bounce Therapy, a therapy group for children with special needs, is now available in Dyker Heights and on Long Island.

Sensory Bounce™ Therapy is a structured, dynamic, sensory motor and social skills therapy group for children ages 3-11 with special needs including autism, ADHD, and motor or social difficulties. And now, as of September, the program is available at BounceU of Brooklyn in Dyker Heights.

Sensory Bounce Therapy utilizes indoor bounce facilities to provide occupational therapy using the facilities' inflatables and stimulating environment. Children can improve their balance, coordination, social skills, body awareness, and more during weekly sessions year-round.

“Strengthening these skills are integral to the development of reading, motor planning, and good handwriting," says founder Miriam Skydell. The program is run by an occupational therapist and offers a small group size with a 1:2 adult to child ratio.

“There is nothing else like Sensory Bounce Therapy," Skydell says. "We allow kids to receive therapy in a natural environment that their peers typically enjoy. We work to integrate sensory needs and social skills for the child in a fun atmosphere. While children are participating in therapy, parents simultaneously participate in a support group.” Parent support groups are often led by a social worker and serve as a way for parents to network, share common struggles, and gain support.

Sensory Bounce Therapy offers programs and summer camps in 15 locations across the tri-state area, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. For more information about Sensory Bounce Therapy call 201-794-7700 or visit sensorybounce.com.

BounceU of Brooklyn is located at 6722 Fort Hamilton Parkway in Dyker Heights. Sensory Bounce Therapy is also located on Long Island at Pump It Up indoor bounce facilities at 135 Dupont St. in Plainview and 225 Community Drive, Suite 250 in Great Neck (under new ownership), as well as BounceU of Oceanside at 3495B Lawson Blvd. in Oceanside.
