Children’s Entertainment Center Now Offering Sensory Friendly Facilities

Safari Adventure, a children’s entertainment center in Riverhead is under new ownership and has lots of new exciting programs and improvements.

It now has a sensory calming spa, which is a room with dim LED lighting and calming music for children who get over-stimulated by loud and bright environments. The room also includes a hands-on sensory table, weighted blankets, squeeze machine, and more. An all new hands-on sensory area has been added to the facility featuring a train table, light tables, a Lego table, and a brand new augmented reality interactive kinetic sand table. The play place has also been refinished to include updated equipment, arcade games, and inflatables.

Other offerings include “Tot Camp” which is a toddler summer camp for children ages 2-4. Movie nights are very popular along with character appearances, which include Elmo and others. Tickets for character appearances go relatively fast, so be sure to sign up for email notifications.

Safari Adventure has a socks-only policy in the play area to keep up with their high standards of cleanliness along with a private nursing room, themed birthday party rooms, and a full café with gluten free options.

“The first thing people say when they come into our facility is ‘wow this place is clean,’” said Daniel Antoniou, co-owner of Safari Adventure.
