Pediatric Therapy Center Launches Sensory Bounce at BounceU Nanuet

Miriam Skydell and Associates has partnered with BounceU to offer Sensory Bounce at the BounceU Nanuet location. Sensory Bounce is a fun form of therapy that promotes social skills.

Combining therapy and play, Sensory Bounce was developed by Miriam Skydell and Associates, a pediatric therapy center based in Fair Lawn, NJ, to provide a sensational experience for kids across all diagnoses.

The bounce program was launched 2 years ago in conjunction with BounceU, an indoor inflatable gymnasium with numerous locations in the tri-state area. “The facility really lends itself to working with the kids on sensory and movement skills, balance, and coordination,” says Miriam Skydell, owner of the practice. The program launched in New Jersey and is now expanding into BounceU’s newest location in Nanuet.

Skydell has been working with children at her pediatric therapy practice for more than two decades. Her practice specializes in providing occupational, physical, and speech therapies, as well as comprehensive screening for children ages 2-10 across a spectrum of diagnoses including sensory processing dysfunction, autism spectrum disorder, social skills difficulties and, gross motor and balance difficulties.

Building social skills is a key focus of Sensory Bounce. The sessions, which begin in September and are arranged in six-week segments, are designed for groups of 8-10 kids with one staff member to every two children. “We structure it so that the kids are building social skills in an environment where they could also have a great time.”

Parents are always welcome, says Skydell. During each session, there will be a support group for parents led by a professional. Refreshments are provided. Sensory Bounce sessions take place on Mondays at 5pm and 6pm.
