Big Apple Circus Returns to NYC to Amaze All-Age Audiences

Big Apple Circus Returns to NYC to Amaze All-Age Audiences

The Big Apple Circus will Run Nov. 11 through Jan. 30, 2022, with Amazing New Acts

The world-famous Big Apple Circus is returning this year, featuring an all new line-up of amazing acts and performances, as well as traditional circus favorites families will enjoy. The show kicks off under the big top at Lincoln Center on Nov. 11, 2021.

For decades, the Big Apple Circus amazed New Yorkers with death-defying feats that produced oohs, ahhs, and gasps throughout the crowd, but was forced to close in 2016 due to financial challenges, and after reopening in 2017 had to shut down again due to the pandemic.

For the first time ever, renowned aerialist and Guinness World Record holder, Nik Wallenda, will be at the helm of this year's circus. Wallenda partnered with a team of live-entertainment producers from the circus world, music, and Broadway to add a modern flair to a beloved classic. This year's circus is called Making the Impossible, Possible.

Big Apple Circus 2021 Featured Acts

“Circus entertainment is family entertainment, and we want to invite your family to be a part of ours. We can’t wait to reveal the new show that will certainly mix traditional circus with modern updates,” Wallenda says.

The amazing acts and performances we know about so far include:

  • All-New High Wire Act: Watch on the edge of your seat as Wallenda and his circus family balance high up above the ground on a mere thin wire!

  • Introducing Johnny Rockett: For the first time at the circus, Johnny Rockett, a self-proclaimed mix of Evel Knievel and Charlie Chaplin, will amaze audiences with comedic daredevil performances.

  • Ringmaster Alan Silva: Silva was a fan-favorite on America’s Got Talent last year when he told the story of being told he should not perform due to his size and wowed the audience and judges.

  • And more: There will be lots of traditional circus performances, including juggling!
